FAQ
When will we get our photos?
You will receive up to five preview images within 24 hours of your big day. I will send previews all throughout the editing process as well.
If there are any photos you would like included in your previews, please just let me know.
Full galleries will take around two to eight weeks depending on the time of year I shoot your wedding.
How many pictures will we receive?
This will vary dependent on a number of factors - which package you book, how co-operative you and your guests are to having photographs taken, any restrictions from venues, (e.g - some churches don't allow photographs during hymns and religious readings). I do aim to give you as many high quality and beautiful images as possible, but I don't give a set number as it does vary from wedding to wedding.
Do you use different photographers/editors?
No. I'm the only person that takes all the photographs and edits them.
The only circumstance in which a different photographer will attend your wedding is if an exceptional circumstance happens, (e.g - I am hospitalised or have a severe illness/injury). If this were to happen, you would be contacted immediately and offered a full refund or a trusted replacement photographer.
Similarly, I am the only person who works for the business, so from the moment you reach out to the moment your gallery is delivered, I am the only person you will have contact with. (The exception to this is if you book our photobooth, then my partner will be assisting with prints)
Are there any hidden fees?
No hidden fees whatsoever. Our packages outline everything you receive, we won't make you pay extra for any digital images.
The only time you will pay more than the package price is if you're outside of our coverage area and we need to charge a travel fee - which we are transparent about upfront - or if you would like to add any extras, (extra hours on top of your package, extra USB's, etc.)
What is your photography style?
I would describe my style as documentary and candid, with some gentle direction and posing recommendations mixed in for formal photographs. I absolutely love capturing the authentic moments and emotions of your day without taking away the enjoyability of your day from you.
During your formal photographs, I will give some gentle guidance, (e.g - straighten your tie, put your hand here, lower your flowers slightly), but I won't be shouting orders at you or moving you around constantly!
How do I pay?
Upon booking, you pay your deposit - which is deducted from your total, (e.g - if you book The Platinum Package, your deposit will be £100, and then your balance owed goes down to £500).
Full balance is due one week prior to your wedding date.
You can pay in instalments if easier - there's no set amount or dates, just pay what you can when you can.
Payments are taken via bank transfer or Paypal.
Can we meet you before booking?
Where possible, I always offer a face to face meeting with couples in the South Wales area. For couples based in another city, or if you simply don't have time to squeeze in a face to face meeting, I can offer a phone/video call as well. These aren't mandatory, but they are great for getting to know each other before your big day and having the opportunity to discuss your big day. There are no charges for this at all - maybe a caramel latte if you're feeling generous!
Why should I have a photographer?
There are a few different reasons why having a photographer is a great addition to your day. Here's just a few!
1. We create beautiful images that can be shared with all your friends and family for generations to come
2. We have a creative eye and a unique skillset to capture candid 'blink and you'll miss it' moments that can be easily missed in the craziness of your wedding day
3. Having us there to capture your big day means you and your guests can relax and fully enjoy the special day without worrying about capturing every detail. Our knowledge and experience means we know what shots to capture off the top of our heads, so you don't need to spend the day worrying that you've missed a key shot. (We do ask for a photo list for the group shots - just so we don't miss any essential family members and poor Auntie Joan isn't in any pictures!)
will you share our photos?
I will never share photos without your consent, no matter what.
I've had clients request only certain photos get posted, certain guests not get posted, or nothing at all get posted. I will always respect your decision to keep your images away from social media.
If you give consent to begin with and decide you want your images removed for any reason, please do just let me know and I will remove them as soon as I see your message.
Do you have any 'rules'?
I'm not a fan of the word 'rules', but there are some policies I have in place.
1. Whilst I am happy to work alongside videographers and content creators, I must be the sole and only photographer. I'm more than happy for your friends and family to take photographs, I even encourage this, but having two professional photographers who don't usually work together can throw off the natural creative flow, so I only work as an independent photographer.
2. If I am put in a situation where I feel my safety is at risk, I will cease service and leave site immediately. This can include, and is not limited to - illegal activity taking place, aggressive behaviour, (both verbally and physically), sexual/non sexual harassment, etc. No refunds will be issued if I have to leave early for my safety.
3. If your balance hasn't been paid by the outlined date, I will not attend and any moneys paid will be forfeited. I can be flexible, we are all human and sometimes we need a little extra time to pay things - weddings are expensive - but if I have had no communication and no payment, I will deem my services no longer required.
4. Not necessarily a work rule, but more a life rule, I am completely sober and do not drink alcohol. This may bring you peace of mind knowing your photos won't turn out all weirdly angled and I won't pass out on chair mid-reception - but I just like to make clients aware so you're not offended when I say no to an alcoholic drink. Will never say no to a Cherry Pepsi Max, however!
Can I have the RAW/Unedited photos?
I don't provide RAW/unedited images as part of my packages as these images are not reflective of my work in its entirety. The final image you see vs the RAW image look massively different.
Do you have a question?
I feel I may have overloaded you with every question and answer I can think of, but if there's something I've missed that you'd like to know the answer to then please reach out and ask. I'm more than happy to answer any and every question you may have!
